My parents started meeting with the local church in the early 70's in Los Angeles. They had been to many Christian free groups but were drawn by the living meetings and encouraging words of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's ministry. Therefore, I was raised in the local church. One of my earliest memories was of a family vacation to Fresno, California. We had never been to Fresno, but my parents phone called the Christians meeting as the local church in Fresno. I was amazed at the warm hospitality we received. For people who had never met us to be so friendly and open to us really left an impression on this youngster.
I realized the members of the local church in Fresno were just like the ones in Long Beach, California where I lived. The reason was because the common expression was just Christ. No matter where you are, what your race, culture, or nationality is, you will be warmly received by the Christians in the local church. They will encourage you to enjoy this wonderful Christ who makes us all one!
